MISCELLANEOUS TIPS
- When booking your reservation online, carefully check all passenger names. If you
discover a mistake, contact us immediately. Once the ticket is processed, airline
imposed change fees apply.
- All reservations must be made in the EXACT NAME of the traveler.
Nicknames are unacceptable. Security requires that the name on
the ticket must exactly match your Photo ID/ Passport.
- When making a reservation online you will receive a Booking Confirmation. Initial
Booking confirmation is not a substitute for an actual ticket. Within 24 hours you
will receive either Electronic ticket receipt or a shipping notification of a paper
ticket shipment. If you have either of the above ticket emails, please check your
Spam/ Junk folders and then contact us immediately.
- Passengers are responsible for any required travel documentation (i.e. Passport,
Visas, etc). Please visit our recommended Passport partner for assistance. Links
are found on this website on the Links page.
- For international travel, all persons, including newborn infants, are required to
obtain passports in their own name. If you do not arrange to purchase the infant
ticket prior to your flight, you will be charged at the airport.
- Never assume you can travel with a pet. After your reservation has been made, contact
the airline directly for details and costs.
- For serious special onboard travel assistance (ie; oxygen, wheelchairs, etc) please
contact the airline directly and be prepared to disclose details of the medical condition.
IMPORTANT TIPS FOR FINDING THE LOWEST FARE
- Understand the MOST EXPENSIVE DAYS of the week to travel:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday are the cheapest days of the week to travel
- Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the most expensive days
of the week to travel
- Understand the MOST EXPENSIVE MONTHS to travel
- LOW SEASON: November thru March are the cheapest months to travel
(excluding the Christmas / New Year holiday period)
- SHOULDER SEASON: April / May and September / October are the
next cheapest months to travel.
- PEAK SEASON: June, July and August are the most expensive time to
travel. Many times these fares are twice the price of the Low
season fares.
- Make travel reservations as soon as you know your travel dates.
Delaying will only increase your airfare. Don’t depend upon last
minute sales.
- When searching for airfares always use the overall city code rather
than specifying a specific airport. (Example: NYC will show fares
for JFK, LGA, and EWR). This will help identify any low cost
carriers in your area.
IMPORTANT AIRPORT TIPS
- Many airlines now offer online check-in. Online check-in will speed up your airport
experience. When traveling to the airport make sure to carry a copy of your electronic
ticket (or paper ticket), boarding pass (if pre printed from online check-in) and
required photo ID.
- Some airlines require travelers to present the credit card that was used to
purchase the ticket.
- Make sure to visit the Department of Homeland Security/ Travel Security and Procedures
to be aware of any current airport restrictions.
www.dhs.gov/xtrvlsec
- Make sure to allow more than enough time for airport check-in. International travel
allow: 3 hours minimum. US Domestic travel: allow 2 hours minimum. It is better to
have extra time at the airport than to miss your flight.
- Always reconfirm your flight DIRECTLY WITH THE AIRLINE approximately 24 hours prior
to your flight. This is a marvelous safeguard against last minute schedule changes.
- Don’t lock your luggage unless using TSA approved locks and luggage straps.
- Check the destination tag on checked luggage.
IMPORTANT TRAVELING TIPS
- Keep your passport safe at all times.
- Don’t check medications and valuables in your checked luggage.
- Check electrical current standards at your destination. You may need a current
adapter / converter.
- Always have luggage tags with a name, address and phone number attached on the outside
of the bag. It is also recommended to place a label with the same information inside
the bag.
- Be familiar with local tipping customs at your destination.
- Be familiar with existing covered travel expenses on your personal insurance and credit
cards. Travel insurance is strongly recommended to protect against unforeseen
occurrences.
- Arrive at your destination with a small amount of local currency, or exchange a small
amount upon arrival at the airport.
- Learn to use the 24 hour clock. It could prevent serious travel mishaps.
